Dr. Takahiro Kodama is a physician-scientist specializing in hepatology, gastroenterology, and oncology. He obtained his M.D. from Osaka University in 2002 and completed his Ph.D. in the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the same institution in 2011. Following a postdoctoral fellowship at the Houston Methodist Research Institute in Texas (2012-2016), he returned to Osaka University, where he currently serves as a Professor and Chairman in the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.

His research focuses on liver cancer biology, cancer immunotherapy, and biomarker development. He has published over 150 peer-reviewed papers, including first or senior author publications in J Clin Invest, Hepatology, Gastroenterology, Clin Cancer Res, and PNAS. He holds seven patents related to diagnostic biomarkers and therapeutic stratification methods in cancer.
